sneak peek of the studio

I haven’t written much about my conversion of one of our apartments into a writer and quiet artist’s studio, especially since the project is on hiatus until my foot heals. Still, it’s an inspiring space and I’m excited to finish it up over the winter. Above are Liam, a visitor from Ireland who came to help us for a couple days, the view of the all-white, all-bright front room, and Maura, with whom I’m sharing a room and much of the work.

lisasfoods - Looking forward to seeing the results. I always love the idea of a studio, but don’t know that I’d really use one. We do have a wonderful office with a big wooden dining room table as the desk (we share it), and lots of clutter that needs to get cleaned out. It also doubles as a guest room.

whitney - thanks, Lisa. I started this project before I started my downsizing/minimalist streak. Part of my need for a studio was due to the intense clutter in my home office. I couldn’t work in there because I couldn’t see the floor–no joke. Now that my desk is in the new studio however, we’re using the space as a much-needed guest room and I’m glad for it. The studio space is becoming a community space too so that’s nice.

courtney - Oooh, it’s coming together. It’s going to look beautiful when it’s done.
