back & not unpacked

I’m back from Puerto Rico, and feel pretty darn great. A week in the sun, on the sand, and with some great books does wonders for the spirit. I’ve yet to unpack or upload photos from my camera but here are some Instagram shots I took on my iPhone (love that thing!):

(L) Tapas in San Juan with Sean’s mom, the afternoon before we left. (R) The view from Tamboo, a great bar with the best mojitos on the island. No really, the bartender won a contest!

(L) The novel I started halfway through the trip, Outlander. It is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever read, which is perfect for a beach vaca. (R) Happy me at the beautiful lighthouse park in Rincon. People are surfing behind me.

(L) My toes in the sand at Pools Beach.  (R) Our bedroom in the morning. For the most part, we went to bed and woke up with the sun. Hard to stay asleep when the roosters in your neighborhood are crowing.

(L) The almost undrinkable Bloody Mary-tini I ordered. It was made with habenero-infused vodka. So good, so hot. (R) Sean on his mom’s balcony in San Juan. We overlapped with her for a day.

Teresa - I am so excited you finally read OUtlander. Can’t wait to discuss. Totally ridiculous, but luxuriously, thrillingly so. It has even been turned into a musical. Really. A horrible, not ever going to be ready for Broadway musical, but nonetheless…

whitney - Luxuriously ridiculous is the best description ever. And dear god, I did not know about musical. Or should I say, “didna no.”

Teresa - The best part is that Outlander is probably the LEAST ridiculous of the series. It just gets more and more extravagant throughout. Good writing and interesting characters help overcome the more ludicrous plot twists, I think. I listened to the snippets of the musical on Amazon and I was cracking up the whole time. It is like the worst high school production imaginable.
